Law Firms Expand the Use of Desktop Virtualization

Law firms need to expand the use of desktop virtualization as they fundamentally change the way IT services are delivered, according to the December 2009 issue of Law Technology News (LTN). These changes are the result of reduced IT budgets and staff. Desktop virtualization runs programs on centralized, "virtual" servers, easing the burden on IT departments to maintain hardware and software. Full-powered PCs can be replaced by low-cost, long-lasting thin-client workstations.

ITData's Virtual Network Services (VNS) provides firms with high-performance virtual desktop environments, reducing the server maintenance load on IT staff while providing business continuity; backup and restore services; and a 24x7 help desk.
